Looking for a weekend getaway in Ras Al Khaimah that combines meaningful experiences and great food? If you’re based in Dubai and craving a short road trip filled with family time, spiritual reflection, and delicious seafood, this guide is for you.
In this post, we’re sharing our personal weekend routine in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK)—from attending Sunday Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church to enjoying unforgettable seafood food trips. Whether you’re traveling with family, friends, or planning a relaxing break from city life, this RAK itinerary offers inspiration for your next UAE weekend escape.
Sobrang love na love talaga namin ang seafood! Kaya naman every time na nagta-travel kami to different places here in the UAE, isa talaga sa pinaka nilu-look forward namin ay ang makahanap ng masarap na kainan—lalo na kung seafood. Automatic na ‘yan, always first on our list. 😄
But this trip to Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) wasn’t just about food.
Because of the pandemic, most churches in Dubai still require online booking before you can attend mass. Medyo hassle siya, especially if you’re the spontaneous type like us. So when we found out that St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Ras Al Khaimah doesn’t require any appointment or pass, we decided to give it a try.
Since then, naging regular weekend habit na namin ang pumunta doon.
Our first visit to RAK was surprisingly emotional and memorable. Parang biglang bumalik ang childhood memories—attend mass, then eat out with family after. Ganito kami dati noong bata pa kami: simba muna, tapos food trip kung saan-saan. Simpleng family day, pero punong-puno ng saya.
And of course, after mass… pagkain agad ang next agenda. 😆
Given the long drive from Dubai to RAK, automatic na talaga ang maghanap ng masarap na restaurant. So far, isa pa lang ang natry namin noon—but it instantly became our favorite: Wave Seafood Restaurant.
Grabe, the seafood was super fresh and full of flavor. As in, sulit bawat subo. Kaya kung may magtatanong dati sa amin ng “best seafood restaurant in Ras Al Khaimah,” ito talaga ang una naming nirerecommend.
Maganda rin ang ambiance—perfect for family lunches or barkada bonding after mass. Tuwing may friends kaming kasama, dinadala namin sila dito, and lagi silang umaalis na busog at satisfied.
Honestly, these weekend trips became more than just an escape from the city.
They turned into our little ritual:
✨ spiritual refreshment
✨ long drive therapy
✨ and of course… seafood goals
So if you’re ever looking for things to do in Ras Al Khaimah, or gusto mo lang ng meaningful weekend food trip, sobrang solid ng combo na:
Weekend Mass at St. Anthony Church + seafood feast after.
We were really looking forward to exploring more restaurants in RAK… but for a long time, this one stayed as our favorite.
UPDATE 💔
Sadly, Wave Seafood Restaurant has now permanently closed. During our last visit, we noticed there had been a change in management, and unfortunately, the food just wasn’t as good as it used to be.
Even so, the memories — and the cravings 😅 — will always stay with us. Who knows, maybe soon we’ll discover a new seafood spot in RAK to fall in love with all over again.
